Terms of use & image rights

This page sets out what you may do with the material published on daksystem.com. It is short and specific, because most of what people want to do with it is welcome and only a few things are not.

Who we are

What we own

Our photography. Every photograph of a Dak machine, grip, fixture, extensometer, chamber or load cell on this site is our own studio and factory work, photographed on equipment we designed and built. Those images are ours.

Our writing. The product pages, the test-method guidance, the industry and material pages and the specifications tables were written and technically reviewed by our own engineering team. The words are ours even where the subject is not.

Our marks. The Dak System Inc. name and logo, the machine model designations and the name of our testing software.

What we do not own, and do not claim

Test standards belong to the bodies that publish them. ASTM, ISO, DIN, BS, EN, JIS, TAPPI, AWS and IS designations, and the text of the standards themselves, are the property of those organisations. We describe what a method involves and what equipment it calls for; we do not reproduce the standards, and nothing on this page claims any right in them. If you need the standard, buy it from its publisher — that is what we tell our own customers.

Third-party names, marks and logos that appear on this site remain the property of their owners.

What you may do, without asking

• Read, print and share any page here.
• Link to any page, from anywhere, including in a tender document, a specification or a purchase requisition. No permission is needed and we would rather you did.
• Quote a short passage in your own work, with our name and a link back to the page it came from.
• Use our specifications and model codes in your own procurement paperwork. They are published so that you can.
• Index this site, including with automated and AI systems. Our robots.txt and llms.txt say so deliberately.

What needs our permission

• Republishing our photographs. Copying a machine, grip or fixture image onto another website, catalogue, brochure, marketplace listing or advertisement — whether the file is downloaded and re-uploaded, or linked directly from our servers.
• Reproducing our pages, or substantial parts of them. Copying our product descriptions, method guidance or specification tables as your own copy, including rewritten or machine-translated versions of them.
• Using the Dak System Inc. name, logo or model designations to describe equipment that is not ours.

Permission is a short email away and is often given — distributors, laboratories and customers writing about equipment they own are the ordinary case, and we say yes to those. Write to sales@daksystem.com with the image or page and where you intend to use it.

If we find our material republished

We monitor for it. We will normally write and ask first, because most of it is a marketing agency working quickly rather than anything deliberate. Where that does not resolve it, we take the ordinary steps available to a copyright owner, including notices to the site’s host and to search engines.

Accuracy, and what these pages are not

We publish specifications and test-method guidance carefully and correct them when they are wrong. They are written to help you choose and specify equipment — they are not a substitute for the standard itself, for a qualified engineer’s judgement, or for a written quotation. Specifications change as the machines develop; where this site and an older printed brochure disagree, this site is the current one.

Nothing on this site is an offer, a price or a commitment to a delivery period. Those come from our sales engineers in writing.
